ABOUT Sire: PF's Catch (Registered Name: Catch)
2013 Grey Holsteiner Gelding

Genetics: Colman / Carthago Z x Calido I x Caletto I
Registration Number: DE421000038513

A member of the Holstein mare family – 890

PF's Catch was selected, purchased, and imported by owner Ryan R. Pedigo of Ryan Pedigo Sport Horses in 2022. Catch was purchased directly from the owner at the Holsteiner Verband in Germany. His world-class genetics, athleticism, jumping scope, class, and classic looks truly elevate him to what the jumping sport horse world recognizes as a “World Class Sport Horse” through top genetics and outstanding athletic abilities. "Catch – Colman by Carthago, presented as a young grey stallion boasting exceptional quality and very good movement at the 2015 Neumünster stallion grading. Catch had stood out for his excellent free jumping already during the pre-selection. Catch has the clear rectangular frame so important for a sire. His face and bright eyes reflect his intelligence and even temper. His neck is big and ties nicely into the body, with long and well-defined withers well connected to a very good back and croup structure. He has very correct legs and perfectly shaped hooves of suitable size. His very regular movement results from his hindquarters’ excellent ability to carry weight, allowing for a particularly powerful canter.”

Sports Success
According to the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping training concept, four-year-old stallions are only selectively shown in competition. Catch’s first outing saw him easily win the 4-year-old Jumping State Championship with a score of 9.2 under Ebba Johansson. As he matured, he took home several wins in young horse jumping classes at A and L levels. In 2019, after the ride was given to Maximilian Gräfe, he won four qualifiers to the National Championships. Since 2020, Catch has been at the stable of Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, where he has notched several top finishes in youngster tours at both the national and international levels, including 2nd place at the international horse show in Opglabbeek. With Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, Catch placed in several international classes up to the 1.45m level; for example, 6th in Mannheim and 2nd in Herning.

Stallion Performance Test
Catch completed a 14-day ability assessment at Neustadt/Dosse with a total mark of 8.30, receiving 9.0 on temperament, character, and willingness to perform and 8.5 on canter, rideability, and jumping ability (free jumping). Catch’s final jumping weighted score in the Münster-Handorf sport test was a thrilling 9.73 – a mark without precedence in a stallion performance test. He received 9.6 on canter and technique, 9.8 on ability and rideability, and 10.0 on overall impression.

ABOUT Sire: Colman
Colman is outstanding among Holsteiner stallions with an impressive appearance. He is clearly made to be a solid performance horse. He is energetic, full of elasticity, and has an amazing jumping capacity—the winner at his 100-day jumping test. Colman is a son of the international show jumper Carthago. Notably, Dam’s sire Lord became one of the most famous stallions of the Holsteiner breed; in the third generation, we find the outstanding thoroughbred Marlon xx. Colman represents the Holsteiner dam line 223a. Other well-known stallions from this line are Camposanto, Conello, De Kooning, and Loredano. Colman has produced many high-quality licensed sons, including Cancoon, Carantanus, Culture I and II, Catwalk, Con Cosmos, Casinos, Colmander, Colmani, Contagio, Cool Crack I and II, Cordarex, Cottbus, and Coulthard.

ABOUT Dams Sire: Calido I
Today, Calido I is one of the most important sires nationally. His pedigree highlights Cor de la Bryère, Cottage Son xx (three times each), Ramzes AA, and Anblick xx (twice). His grandmother Kollet (by Roman) produced six dressage and six jumping horses who were successful at advanced levels. The dam’s sire, Coriander, was a multiple talent and won dressage competitions at advanced levels many times. Calido I earned the top jumping ranking at his stallion performance test and then went on to win multiple young horse jumping classes, subsequently qualifying at Bundeschampionate. Calido I’s extraordinary breeding value secures him a solid position at the top, as proven by his progeny’s successes. Highlighted offspring include Coupe de Coeur – the German Champion in 2006 and 2007 with René Tebbel; Nobless M – the Grand Prix winner in 2007 in Helsinki; and La Coronia with Pius Schwizer and Eurocommerce Acapulco (Gerco Schröder). The Olympic Games 2008 in Hong Kong saw Calido I offspring California with Taizo Sugitani, Cayak with Eiken Sato, and Nobless M competing.

ABOUT Dam Grandsire: Caletto I
Caletto I was approved in Neumünster in 1977 and passed his performance test at Medingen the following year. It was a vintage year for the Holsteiner Verband, when Capitol I was also licensed that year. According to the Stallion Book of the Holsteiner Warmblood Breed by Dr. Dietrich Rossow, Caletto I was a “tall, important sire with the smooth topline of a modern riding horse. Good trot, absolutely marvelous canter. Extraordinary jumping ability with fantastic form over fences.” Caletto I was selected by the master breeder, Baron von Nagel, to stand at his Vornholz Stud in Westphalia. According to Claus Schridde in the 2006 edition of Bernd Eylers’ German Stallion Book, the Baron “was a great authority on horses. He instinctively did the right thing in horse breeding over several decades. Baron von Nagel had internalized the credo, ‘breeding is equivalent to thinking in terms of generations.’ His horses had a high percentage of noble blood on the one hand, and on the other, Holstein bloodlines played a great role in his breeding planning. He had destined the bay Caletto I as the successor to Ramzes AA, Krol Walca, Herold, Pernod xx, and Kallistos AA as a Vornholz sire. This decision was to be the last ‘great success’ of the ingenious hippologist. Baron Clemens von Nagel, however, had passed away by the time that the first Caletto I foals were born. Caletto I’s first foal crop produced the stallion Cartusch, who later stood in Westphalia and Oldenburg, as well as the dams of two successful international stallions: Aldatus (Young European Champion under Christian Ahlmann) and Iberio (Derby winner under Søren von Rönne).

Residing at the Woehrden stallion station, Caletto I had almost completed his breeding duties for his third season when he was kicked by a mare in the genitals. Despite the best veterinary attention, he remained infertile for months afterwards. The Holsteiner Verband sold him to the show-jumping rider Michael Rüping; the pair went on to earn DM101,693, as well as a team bronze at the 1983 European Championships. In 1985, Caletto I was known to be the most successful German Nation’s Cup horse. When it seemed that his breeding days were over, the Holstein breeding authorities contacted Michael Rüping in pursuit of Caletto I’s semen to have it retested. After a five-year break, he was fertile again. Caletto I resumed his successful breeding career in 1986, and in the 1991–2000 WBFSH standings, he was represented by 12 progeny who took him into 28th place, and he finished 5th in the 1999–2000 standings. To date, over 950 of his progeny have been successful in sport, including Cabrol Amicor, winner of the German Derby with Holger Wulschner; Cocetto with Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum; Roofs, who Jan Tops rode at the 2000 Games; and competitors at the 2002 WEG in Jerez.

ABOUT Dam's Sire: Tobago Z

Tobago Z has it all; notably, his direct relatives are all top performers. His dam, Whoopie C, was a successful 1.60m horse under Yves Vanderhasselt and was praised for her extreme scope, carefulness, and quality. His sister, HH Donatella, campaigned throughout the world under Quentin Judge and Paola Amilibia. Tobago Z then became the most successful horse of the 2018 GCL. In 2019, he earned three podium finishes in the GCL Grand Prix. The World Cup Seasons of 2018 and 2019 were dominated by Tobago Z, when he won the WC of Madrid and Bordeaux, and finished 3rd in Amsterdam and 4th in Leipzig. A credit to his unbelievable talent, he also finished 4th during the World Cup Finals, 2nd during the majestic GP of Aachen, and 2nd during the Europeans in Rotterdam with the German Olympic Team. "When genetics predict results and results confirm genetics, the circle is complete with Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z."

ABOUT Dam's Grandsire: Million Dollar
In 2022, Sophie Hinners took over the reins of Million Dollar, and the pair had a successful season—achieving victories and top placings in the 3* Nations' Cup with the German Olympic Team: 2nd place honors in Mannheim, 1st place in Bratislava, and 1st place in Budapest. Unfortunately, a hernia brought the pair's season to an early finish in July. Million Dollar recovered well and was focused on breeding for the 2023 season. Million Dollar has three good gaits and a very convincing jump—scope, carefulness, and an excellent impression—everything you would expect from his genetics. He completed his 30-day test in Schlieckau in December of 2015 with a rideability score of 8.25 and a score of 9.75 for jumping ability. Approval for Holsteiner breeding was granted at the January 2016 licensing in Elmshorn. Million Dollar finished his sport test in Münster-Handorf with flying colors—scoring 8.8 for ability and overall impression, 8.5 for rideability and manners, 8.3 for canter, and an overall final grade of 8.57. Between the ages of four and six, Million Dollar became a series winner in young horse jumping ability classes at A to M levels under Ebba Johansson. For further promotion, Million Dollar joined the training stable of Jos Lansink and, under Frank Schuttert (NED), campaigned to top placings up to the 1.45 meters during his time in Belgium, before joining Sophie Hinners’ training stable at the beginning of 2022.

Million Dollar's sire, Plot Blue, was an international superstar who remained at the top of the international show jumping world for many years—earning countless victories, medals, and Olympic team appearances. He competed at five Senior Championships, two World Cup Finals, 23 GCT Grand Prixs, and earned over €900,000 in prize money on the GCT Tour alone. Under his long-term partner Marcus Ehning, the pair won the Geneva World Cup Final, earned Team Gold for Germany in the 2010 Kentucky World Equestrian Games, placed fifth individually at the London 2012 Olympic Games, and achieved many World Cup qualifier placements. His dam, Gin Tonic de Muze, was used only for breeding, but his granddam, Daytone de Muze, was successful up to 1.60m under Belgian rider Jody Bosteels. His great-grandmother, Wallon de Muze, was also successful up to 1.60m under Michael Hécart, as was her full sister, Walnut de Muze, under Harrie Smolders.

ABOUT SIRE's Dam Grandsire: Caretino
Caretino was the last of the seven stallion sons of Caletto II to enter the Holstein Studbook. The bay Caletto II–Metellus son from stem 826 revealed his qualities at the stallion performance test, where he received a jumping index of 145 points. He went on to win numerous young horse jumper classes, showing his outstanding jumping technique. At ages five and six, Caretino participated in the Bundeschampionate under Thomas Schöning. Then, Bo Kristoffersen took over the ride a year later, campaigning him at the Grand Prix and Nations Cup level. The pair accumulated 40 top placings at S level together. By 2007, Caretino had produced 650 offspring registered for competition with the German FN. At the time of his death, Caretino’s offspring had earned more than 3 million Euros.
